Tralee VTOS was very excited to welcome Fanny Binder from "The Food Remedy" who hosted a workshop for us on Monday 5th March. She told us about the 5 R's that help us to live healthy, energetic and happy lives: remove, replace, re-inoculate, repair and rebalance.
She also made us aware of the nutrients in the food we use every day.
Fanny enthusiastically explained the importance of improving our gut health by having fermented foods in our diet. She showed us how easy it is to make water kefir, kvass and sauerkraut. Introducing a wide variety of good gut bacteria through sampling these fermented drinks and food was a treat. It is possible to make delicious sugar free food.
Hippocrates said "Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food." Fanny introduced us to exciting new possibilities of how to do this.
It was indeed a lesson for life and we're looking forward to using the tips that she gave us.
